Nora Maynard


Nora Maynard
is a writer based in New York City.

She has received fiction fellowships from the Millay Colony for the Arts, the Ragdale Foundation, the Ucross Foundation, and Blue Mountain Center, and is a winner of the Bronx Writers' Center/Bronx Council on the Arts' Chapter One Competition.

Her non-fiction work includes the weekly columns The Celluloid Pantry (on food and drink in film), and Straight Up (on cocktails) for Apartment Therapy Media's The Kitchn, as well as book reviews, interviews, and personal essays. She is a contributor to The Business of Food: Encyclopedia of the Food and Drink Industries (Greenwood, 2007), and the recipient of the American Egg Board Fellowship in culinary writing at the Writers' Colony at Dairy Hollow.

Nora is a graduate of the University of Toronto. She worked in publishing in Toronto and New York as an editor and publicist and is a five-time finisher of the New York City Marathon. 

She is completing a novel, BURNT HILL ROAD.
